Recreational Therapist

Our organization is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic recreational therapist to join our team. As a recreational therapist, you will be responsible for assessing the needs of clients and developing and implementing therapeutic programs to enhance their physical, emotional, and social well-being. The successful candidate will have experience working with a diverse range of individuals with different abilities, ages, and backgrounds.

Responsibilities:

• Conducting assessments to determine the needs of clients
• Developing and implementing individualized therapeutic programs
• Monitoring and evaluating clients’ progress
• Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of clients’ progress and treatment plans
• Participating in continuing education and professional development opportunities
• Ensuring that therapeutic programs are safe, effective, and in compliance with regulatory requirements
• Providing education and training to clients, families, and caregivers on the benefits of recreational therapy

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in recreational therapy, or a related field
• Certification as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS)
• Experience working with individuals with different abilities, ages, and backgrounds
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing work environments
• Basic computer skills and ability to maintain electronic records
